TEDTalks: Life Hack: Fake it Till You Become It

Netflix has a series called TEDTalks: Life Hack and it’s a mini series of talks that can help people out in their day to day! The first talk is by Amy Cuddy and she talks about how your body language can shape who you are. She starts by talking about power poses and how different poses can actually change your attitude about how you’re feeling.

Her most powerful point was her personal story about how she had been a terrible accident and told that she could not finish college. Instead, she overcame that obstacle and went on to be a renowned speaker but throughout her journey, she didn’t think she belonged. She was told to “Fake it till you make it” but instead, she found that she could “Fake it till she became it.” She became a great speaker and no longer felt as if she didn’t fit it.

Cuddy’s message is that body language is important. It can alter the way you perceive yourself and lead to tangible and real results. So stop trying to fake it till you make it and starting faking it till you become it!
